Women’s magazine: Michael McCann

When I arrived at the room where the interview took place, Michael McCann was taking off his jacket and then he sat down on his chair. He seemed to be very relaxed and easy-going. Because of his blue eyes, light brown hair, his superbly fit body, his youthful charm and his incredible sex appeal he was idolized by women. Every woman in the room held her breath because his appearance was so overwhelming.

Michael McCann, who won the gold medal with the Australian national field hockey team at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens 2004, is thirty-two years old although he appears to be much younger. He started playing field hockey at the age of four and fortunately, his parents always supported him in what he wanted to do namely becoming a world class field hockey player. He has been living in Mannheim with his girlfriend for two years in order to work there as a full time hockey trainer and he is going to stay there another two years. His girlfriend was born in Austria and she follows him wherever Michael McCann has to go because of his job. Thus they got the opportunity to see many different cities in Europe, for example Den Haag, Barcelona and Hamburg. In his opinion Barcelona is the most beautiful city in the world. He loves travelling, although he misses the good weather and the beaches of his home country Australia. Furthermore, Michael misses his family and his brother’s and sister’s children because the only way not to lose contact with them is via internet or telephone. He loves children and that is why he wants to have a family himself someday. His reply to the question what he is planning for the future was typical of an Aussie: “We’ll see what comes.”
